It has been a public house since 1779 and some of the oak panelling can still be seen in the Lounge Bar which has a traditional open fire.The Bell Inn has been part of the Hook Norton Brewery Company, with it's fine reputation for Traditional Beers, for many years, Tim Turner became the tenant here in 1996. THE ALBION TAVERN - Chipping Norton

In 1863, a local businessman, James 'Bony' Willians started Chipping Norton's first public water supply on the site where the Albion tavern now stands. What is now the beer cellar was the original reservoir containing the water he sold. In 1873 a license for the sale of beer was granted at 'The Reservoir Tavern' Towards the end of the 19th century, the 'Tavern' was acquired by the Hook Norton Brewery, who to this day still sell their fine traditionally brewed ales to our discerning customers.
